Flair Connect Virtual Interlining Overview
Flair uses Hopper Technology Systems (HTS) which allows customers to book interline tickets on other airlines via our website.
Flair Connect Interline reservations will combine flights from two different ticketed bookings that could be from different carriers without interline agreements and/or across multiple reservation systems.
Please note: Flair Connect also offers bookings that combine 2 individual Flair tickets that are not already offered by Flair directly, similar to a connecting flight.
Benefit of Interline Agreements
Interline agreements are a form of partnership between airlines that allow customers to book through two (or more) airlines with less hassle than booking each one separately.
Interline deals provide customers with easy connectivity to destinations not served by Flair. Moreover, it also helps foreign airlines reach more domestic destinations.
How to Book a Flair Connect Reservation
1. To book a reservation using Flair Connect, customers can enter their desired city pairs as usual on our website flyflair.com
2. Once Flair's system locates all available interline options, customers will see them listed similar to the following:
3. During the booking process, customers can view their combination of airlines, and the fare restrictions for each part of the customer's trip:
4. Once customers select their desired flights, they will see an overview of their selected itinerary:
5. Customers can continue through the booking process by entering their personal information. Please note: once a reservation is confirmed, customers are unable to make changes to this information:
6. Customers can proceed to the baggage selection page where they can select what baggage they will be travelling with:
7. Customers can then enter their payment information which will confirm the booking, and a confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided. Flair Connect reservations can only be purchased using Canadian or US funds.
Baggage on a Flair Connect Reservation
On an interline reservation, customers must collect their checked baggage in their layover (or connection) city and take the bags to the other airline's check-in counter.
Customers are strongly advised to check directly with all airlines they are travelling on to ensure they understand and comply with their baggage policies.
Missed Connection Guarantee
When a customer books an interline reservation through Flair Connect Virtual Interlining, they are automatically enrolled in the Missed Connection Guarantee program.
- This service is valid for one flight disruption (missed connecting flight or cancellation) per leg: outbound and return.
- The missed connection rebooking must have occurred within twenty-four (24) hours of their connecting flight departure time for the impacted flight, and may not exceed 24 hours after the scheduled arrival time of their last flight.
Using the Missed Connection Guarantee
Customers can rebook their flights using the portal within their purchase confirmation email.
Through this portal, customers can use the Missed Connection Guarantee to rebook their connecting flight(s) 24 hours before their departure and up to 24 hours after the scheduled arrival time of their flight.
Customers can use the rebooking portal to choose from flights that must:
- depart on the same day, or the following day of their original flight
- arrive at the final intended destination of their original flight
- are booked on the same or a lower fare class
Please note: If a customer chooses to receive any cash or credit card refunds by the airline for the cost of their disrupted flight, they may not be eligible to rebook their connecting flight. However, if customers choose to be rebooked using the Missed Connection Guarantee, they will still be eligible to receive any future travel credits or other non-cash equivalents that the airline may provide as compensation for the missed connecting flight.
Changing or Cancelling a Flair Connect Reservation
Customers wishing to change or cancel their Flair Connect reservation must contact Hopper Technology Systems (HTS) Support directly using the contact numbers listed in their Flair Connect purchase confirmation email.
Flight Changes Made by the Airline
Changes made more than 24 hours before the flight's departure:
Hopper Technology Systems (HTS) will be notified by carriers for any changes or cancellations made to a Flair Connect booking. If HTS receives a notification, or HTS Support is otherwise made aware of a schedule change or cancellation such as through a customer contact, HTS Support will communicate with the customer & offer them one the available options:
- Re-book the affected flight on a new itinerary
- Cancel the flight for a full refund
Please note: If the change is minor and will not cause a missed connection, the regular airline schedule change policy applies. This means customers may not be eligible for refunds or options rebooking on a different airline.
Changes made less than 24 hours before the flight's departure:
If a schedule change or airline cancellation occurs within 24hrs of departure & causes a disruption, users are protected with the Missed Connection Guarantee. If Hopper Technology Systems (HTS) is notified of the change, HTS Support will proactively contact customers to inform them of their options.
The customer can choose between:
- a full cancellation and refund
- re-book to their final destination using the Missed Connection Guarantee.
Please note: If the schedule change is minor and will not cause a missed connection, the regular airline schedule change policy applies. This means customers are neither eligible for refunds nor rebooking on a different airline.
