We welcome little ones on board every Flair flight!

Identification for Infants
Customers are responsible for obtaining valid travel documents (passport, visa or other required documents) that comply with the entry and exit requirements for domestic and international flights. Since entry and exit requirements may change without notice, please consult the Government of Canada's website at www.travel.gc.ca for more information.

Always travel with the proper documentation.
Infant Baggage Allowance
When passengers travel with a lap-held infant, they can bring a diaper bag (the size and weight of a personal item) free of charge in addition to their free personal item.
- 15 cm x 33 cm x 43 cm (6 in x 13 in x 17 in)
- 7 kg (15.5 lb)
Passengers travelling with lap-held infants may also check in two complimentary items:
- Stroller
- Car seat
- Playpen
- Portable highchair
At the Airport
We provide a gate-check service for some items, such as strollers, and recommend that customers bring them through security to make the airport journey easier.
Please note: These items cannot be carried onto the aircraft and must be gate-checked. When travelling with an infant, passengers can bring formula and/or breastmilk through security. The security team may want to swab the infant’s bottles; however, that is up to the security team's discretion working on the passenger’s day of travel.
On Board
Infants which are lap-held must be in the lap of the accompanying adult for the duration of the flight.
Accompanying adults are required to hold the infant during:
- Taxi
- Take-off
- Landing
- Any time the seat belt sign is illuminated
- When instructed to do so by the flight crew
All infants/children secured in a car seat must be seated beside their parent or guardian 18 years or older.
As little ones cannot regulate the effect that changes in cabin pressure have on them during take-off and landing, we recommend that passengers feed their infants during these times. This tends to help relieve this pressure and ensures a much happier flight for both the customer and their little one.
Restrictions when Travelling with Infants
- No single customer shall be responsible for more than one infant, whether the infant is held on the lap of an accompanying passenger or where a seat has been purchased for the infant.
- Infants are restricted from occupying specific seats on the aircraft.
- Infants can only travel with an adult 18 years of age or older.
- When travelling with infants with only one adult present, we recommend consulting the Government of Canada Travel Guidelines, as Flair, Customs, or Airport security may request additional documentation. For more information, please visit the Government of Canada's website at https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/children/children-travel.
