Portable Oxygen Concentrator Guidelines
A portable oxygen concentrator will not count towards your carry-on baggage allowance, and we will not charge a fee to bring it with you. The device is subject to our carry-on baggage guidelines for maximum dimensions and weight:
- Maximum dimensions - 23 cm x 40 cm x 55 cm (9 in x 15.5 in x 21.5 in)
- Maximum weight - 10 kg (22 lb)
Important Information:
- Liquid and gaseous oxygen are forbidden on all Flair flights, and we do not supply oxygen on our flights.
- Batteries are not accepted as checked baggage.
- Extra batteries for a portable oxygen concentrator are permitted, free of charge, provided they can be safely stowed underneath the seat in front of the passenger.
- The area around the portable oxygen concentrator must be clear of blankets, coats, and other carry-on baggage.
- The portable oxygen concentrator must be free of oil and grease.
- You are responsible for bringing enough batteries to power your portable oxygen concentrator for the duration of their travel, including connection times, check-in, and an additional buffer of several hours.
- Batteries cannot be recharged during flight.
Using a Portable Oxygen Concentrator Onboard
If you intend to use a Portable Oxygen Concentrator during your flight, you must complete Flair's Medical Accommodation Form with your physician and submit it to us no less than 48 hours before the flight's departure. Completed forms can be submitted to Flair’s Medical Desk at accessibility@flyflair.com
Medical Accommodation Application Information
- Approved Medical Accommodations for Portable Oxygen Concentrators expire one year after your physician completes the form.
- You are responsible for ensuring that you know the expiration date. If you intend to travel with a portable oxygen concentrator after that date, you must arrange to submit a new Medical Accommodation form for review.
- We recommend that you travel with copies of your completed Medical Accommodation form and the confirmation of approval document provided by Flair.
